Improve Your Game: Sports Performance Improvement for Adults and Teens
Sports performance and visualization have been used by top athletes for decades to improve their game and win. But did you also know teens can successfully use sports performance hypnosis to play better, increase confidence and even receive college scholarships?
Hundreds of surprising research studies have proven that to succeed in sports an athlete must:
- Practice
- Focus
- Be Confident
- Learn Effective and proper visualization from a qualified Certified Hypnotist.
Visualization is a powerful force that is successfully used by top athletes and top student athletes. Research has shown that athletes who combine training and mental practice far exceed those who ignore mental training.
It’s no surprise that top elite and Olympic athletes consistently seek certified hypnotherapists to help maintain the mindset needed to improve their confidence, and performance to stay on top of their game.
DID YOU KNOW…?
Judd Biasiotto PhD A sports psychologist in the 1980’s at the University of Chicago, conducted a study on sports visualization. His famous basketball experiment used free throws as a way to gage the effectiveness of visualization and guided imagery in sports. He first separated athletes into three different groups and tested each group on how many free throws they could make. He then had the first group practice every day for an hour, the second group only visualized themselves making free throws, and the third group did not practice or use visualization.
After 30 days, he tested all three groups again.
The first group improved by 24% and the
second group increased by 23%, without even touching the basketball.
The third group, as predicted, did not show any improvement.
Besides wanting to prove the possible effectiveness of visualization in sports, it was stated that the goal of this study was to show individuals how much success could be achieved if they applied both guided imagery techniques and practice.
There are many reasons people who excel in sports learn and practice visualization. While practice is necessary for athletes to be great at their sport, proper visualization is the secret ingredient that enables teens and adults to stand out in their field.
Positive Thinking can only go so far. Have you ever tried to psyche yourself up and noticed a familiar thought of “I don’t know if I can do it”, or “what if”, then you’ve experienced the limitations of Positive Thinking.
It has been one week since I competed in the Ironman event. As you know, I came to you after I competed in the Half-Ironman event in June and knew that I needed to deal with a significant issue I had with open water swimming – an issue that was threatening to derail my hopes of completing the Ironman.
I am happy to report that with your help, I was able to successfully complete the event – and the swim in particular!
I felt great completing my swim and met my time goals for that portion of the event. I used the visualization approach we discussed on the bike portion and met my time goals as well. I had a great event.
“When my mom introduced the idea of going to meet Wendy so she could hypnotize me to get over my new fear of tumbling, I thought that was crazy. After meeting Wendy trying out some techniques I was already starting to improve. After just a few sessions with Wendy I was able to do my back handsprings again – without any help!”
Here’s the video of Kayla successfully completing her back handspring. Throughout her sessions, she learned how to properly use visualization to improve her performance and increase her confidence.
Most Olympic gold medal winners and top athletic winners consistently use the power of the mind to win. The top athletes who use our specially designed visualization are the ones who improve and excel.
I wanted to let you know that yesterday was a very successful day in terms of my serve! During match play, I picked a spot in the service box and repeated to myself “I like the idea that my serve goes THERE.” Then, I imagined the ball landing in that place…and the results were amazing!
Almost every time I practiced this, my serve landed where I imagined it to- and get this- I was no longer double faulting! I am very excited to practice this technique again tomorrow during match play. Thank you so much for all your help so far…I feel that my serve will continue to make leaps and bounds with your help. – N. Keely
Another athlete who used visualization and hypnosis to make history is Felix Baumgartner who jumped out of a capsule that had reached an altitude of 128,100 feet above the Earth. He dropped 833.9 mph from the sky and became the first person to reach supersonic speed without traveling in a jet or a spacecraft.
The list of athletes who have used hypnosis for success keeps on growing.
YOUR THOUGHTS WILL CAUSE YOU TO FAIL
Just for a moment, pretend to imagine that you are on the basketball team. You’ve had an OK day at school, but you are worried about your ever-growing pile of homework. In addition, your last game was less than stellar. You felt you didn’t play your best and your team lost, too.
Your mind begins to wander…
See yourself on the court, holding the ball in your hands. It’s your turn to shoot. You aim for the basket, and throw the ball. The basketball hits the rim and bounces off… The crowd boos…Your shoulders slump…
You push this image aside and walk away, head down, worrying that you won’t play your best.
What kind of game do you think you will play? Probably not your best.
WIN WITH VISUALIZATION AND SPORTS PERFORMANCE
Let’s rewind that scene above.
Imagine this time you are calm, confident, and focused. You easily release all worry and anxiety.
You intentionally create this image in your mind:
You imagine feeling confident, super focused, and energized. You visualize you are playing your best game ever. You’ve got the ball in your hands and you execute a PERFECT shot! The ball cleanly goes through the net! The crowd cheers! A few minutes later, you do it again. The crowd cheers louder! Team members shout! You are amazing!
What kind of game do you think you’ll play now?
I used what you taught me in swimming and I have some good news about Senior Champs! In my 400 Free, and 400 Medley relay, I went my fastest times out of the whole season in both! But the best part is, my medley team broke the record! I now have the senior record even thought Im not a senior. Thank you! 😀 – A. Giulio
THE MISSING ELEMENT
Teens and adults who learn to release negative thoughts and focus on the desired outcome are the ones who will succeed. Unfortunately, poor performance occurs when teens struggle with worries and fears and are unable to maintain their mindset.
Through individualized sessions, each teen learns and practices Success Thought Training and learns tools and strategies to use while playing their game.
BASED IN SCIENCE
