Whether you want control over anxiety and worry, overcome a fear of speaking or improve sport performance, understanding how your subconscious mind works is the first step. This builds the foundation of everything we do together. During your personalized program, you experience and learn powerful tools and techniques that you’ll use to improve your life. -Wendy Merron, BCH, CI
After graduating college I was a mess. My self-esteem was in the gutter. I had no confidence and constantly struggled with overwhelming anxiety and negative thoughts. Desperate for anything to help me feel better, I stumbled on a course to learn to harness the power of the subconscious mind.
During the class, I learned my subconscious mind was the best route to change my thoughts and feelings, so I diligently practiced the new tools to feel better. The more I practiced, the more I got in control of my thoughts – and the better I felt.
With more confidence, in a short time, I became a Merril Lynch stockbroker and passed the grueling Series 7 Exam. During my first year, I presented new investment concepts to eighteen different groups of investors ranging from 10 to over 400 attendees.
After almost 15 years in the financial field, I was ready to leave. Determined to follow my passion for helping others, I passed the National Guild of Hypnotists Exam and got Certified as a Hypnotherapist in 2001.

FROM A RECENT INTERVIEW on McSweeney’s
What is your occupation? Board Certified Hypnotherapist and Cert. Hypnosis Instructor
What advice would you tell to your younger self or someone half your age? Don’t worry so much.
How would you answer …”This I know for sure”? That my thoughts determine the outcome of my life.
What career advice you wish you had at 25? Choose a career you absolutely love, love, love. The money will follow if you enjoy what you do.
Do you have a personal practice that keeps you in alignment and helps you stay present through everyday life? I stay aware of my thoughts and choose to no longer spend time hanging out with worry and fear. They are not my friends. Instead, I direct my thoughts and focus on the outcome I desire.
What would you advise a younger woman to master that will serve her throughout her life? Find ways to love your inner child and check in with her daily. ALWAYS treat others the way you want to be treated.
Looking back, do you have any regrets you would like to share and what it taught you? I have no regrets because I know I did the best with the tools I had available at the time.
My biggest AHA after turning 50 and why it’s valuable: Life gets a whole lot more enjoyable when you stop judging others and stop judging yourself.
What is your best advice for living a happy life? Find ways to give to others every day. Whether it’s a smile, a kind word, or your time…you will be happier for giving.
My wish for you… is that you learn how to actively direct your thoughts to create the life you desire. It is truly the secret to a happier life.

In addition to hypnotherapy and EFT Tapping (the Emotional Freedom Technique), I utilize various treatment modalities such as cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and recovery-oriented cognitive therapy (CT-R). I work from a trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective. I strive to create a therapeutic environment so that each client is supported and empowered.
As a former high school and collegiate athlete, I understand that a positive mindset is necessary to succeed in life and sports. I have helped athletes enhance their performance, overcome performance anxiety, and thrive after an injury. I work with athletes to not only strive for greatness but to achieve it.
I graduated from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research with a Master of Social Services M.S.S (MSW equivalent).
I have been collaborating with Wendy for years in an effort to better serve the individuals we help.
I provide in-person and telehealth services to individuals and families. I have experience working with those suffering from anxiety, depression, substance use, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and those on the autism spectrum.
In addition, I have utilized hypnosis to help individuals overcome trichotillomania (hair-pulling), quit smoking, sleep apnea, stop emotional eating, overcome their fear of public speaking, increase confidence and decrease anxiety.
I have also successfully helped athletes overcome performance anxiety to enhance sports performance. I have used hypnosis and therapeutic techniques to help athletes improve both their mental and physical games.
Hypnotherapy has had a profound impact on my life, and I believe it can positively impact others as well.
